Historic Preservation
If renovation is required at historic buildings owned by government entities, Meld can help with Section 106 reviews and historic facility assessments. We have also helped numerous private developers navigate the complex state and federal historic tax credit process. Meld’s preservation clients include IRG Realty Advisors, Streak Investments, Midwest Development Partners, and Windsor Companies. If you are renovating an old building, contact Meld Architects to see if you qualify for the historic tax credit program.
“At its best, preservation engages the past in a conversation with the present over a mutual concern for the future.”
-William J. Murtagh
“We shape our buildings; thereafter, they shape us.”
-Winston Churchill
Historic Preservation is a primary focus of Meld Architects. We are registered with the state of Ohio as a Qualified Historic Professional per the Secretary of the Interior’s Standard’s for Archaeology and Historic Preservation, 48 FR 44716. Meld partners have worked on historic renovation projects across the state from the Cleveland area to Akron, Canton, Dayton, Toledo, Hamilton, and Pittsburgh, PA. We have helped preserve historic buildings for public and non-profit entities such as Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority, Cleveland Museum of Art, Western Reserve Historical Society, and the Famicos Foundation.
